Can dogs eat garlic?

Yes!

If you do any Google search you will often see that garlic is considered toxic to dogs as it is part of the allium family.  The only study that has been done is an overdose study. Giving dogs ridiculously high levels of garlic (we’re talking up to 60 cloves a day here).  However, the dogs in the study still did not develop hemolytic anaemia.  The verdict of the study was that dogs ‘might’ develop hemolytic anaemia.  The good news is that garlic is not only safe but is very beneficial to your dog as long as you feed it in sensible amounts.

By feeding garlic your dog has everything to gain.

Garlic is rich in zinc, potassium, magnesium, manganese, vitamins A, C and B complex. Garlic also contains allicin and ajoene which have been found to be anti-cancer, as well as beneficial for the blood sugar and cholesterol.
