so tell me more…

Our meals are made from a coarse mince (10mm if you really want to know!) of locally sourced, ethically reared prime pork consisting of pork heart, trim and tongue.  A coarse mince texture gives your dog a chance to exercise their jaw muscles from chewing leaving them more mentally and physically satisfied. Win-win. The mince is then made into individual meal-sized portions and is designed to be fed alongside other bone and offal,  ideal for the owner who wants to DIY, giving you a mess-free, easy way of giving it to your dog.

so which portion size should I buy?

Well, that depends on the size of your dog. Each bag consists of individually portioned meals to make feeding as easy as possible – all you have to do is select the portion size you need.

so then, how big’s your dog?

This rough guide will help:

medium dog (such as an Airedale, Cocker spaniel or a Springer Spaniel ) – try 100g portions

large dog (such as Boxer, German Shepherd, or a Rottweiller)  – try 200g portions

giant dog (such as Newfoundland, St Bernard, or a Great Dane)  – try our 500g recyclable card boxes, 2 boxes per kilo.

so how much should I feed my dog?

Feed 2 -3% of your dogs’ weight depending on how active they are….a  20kg lazy dog would eat 400g a day (say 2 x 200g or 4 x 100g) and a 20kg active loony would gobble down 600g a day (say 3x 200g). If you have a fattie that is trying to lose some inches then base the calculation on the ideal weight instead of the actual weight.

Puppies love this food!  Between 1-3 months feed 10% of their body weight a day, spread over 4 meals. Once they are 4 months old this should be reduced down to 6% of their weight per day and by the time your pup is a year old they should be being fed as an adult.

This is a general guideline every dog is different. Remember the best indicator of all is how your dog is looking, but if you need further help please get in touch.

We recommend you mix it up a bit and feed a variety of meat types as the best diet for your dog is a raw varied one!.
