When you defrost your dogs meals what do you do with the ‘blood juice’ thats left?

Whatever you do, don’t throw it away.

This ‘blood juice’ is actually myoglobin.  Myoglobin is an oxygen rich, iron carrying protein which is found in muscle meats.  It’s main job is to carry and store  oxygen in  the muscles cells.  The redder the meats the higher concentration of myoglobin.

So the next time you have left over ‘juice’ when defrosting your meat, pour it over the remaining food to ensure your dog gets all the nutritional benefits possible from their food.
